SFPD Arrest Prolific Richmond District Robbery Suspect

On October 15, 2015 SFPD investigators from Major Crimes Unit and Richmond Station Plain Clothes Unit responded to the Outer Richmond District to investigate a series of crimes involving a suspect who had committed up to five robberies within the prior two weeks. This suspect, who operated alone, had been preying on female victims walking by themselves. During the robberies, he stole their cell phones and purses.

The investigators formulated a plan and conducted surveillance in the area of the 4000 block of Fulton Street. As a result of this operation, they arrested Alexander Posada, male, 21, of San Francisco, in connection of two street robberies that he committed that night. Posada was booked at San Francisco County Jail on robbery charges. Posada is also the suspect in at least five other street robberies. No booking photo will be released at this time due to pending identification matters.
