SFPD Announces AB 481 Annual Report Community Meetings 24-092

The meetings will be part of regularly scheduled SFPD Station Captain meetings  

The SFPD will be hosting community meetings regarding California Assembly Bill 481. AB 481 requires California law enforcement agencies to submit use policies relating to the procurement and use of “military equipment.” AB 481 mandates that each agency author an annual report relating to the approved use policies on their military equipment and host a well-publicized and conveniently located community engagement meeting to allow members of the general public to discuss and ask questions regarding the annual report and SFPD's funding, acquisition, or use of equipment listed in the report. The meeting schedule is as follows:

Ingleside Station Captain's Community Meeting
August 20 (3rd Tuesday of the month)
6:00pm-7:00pm, 1 Sergeant John V. Young Lane

Mission Station Captain's Community Meeting
August 27 (last Tuesday of the month)
5:00pm-6:00pm, 630 Valencia Street

 Park Station Captain's Community Meeting
August 28 (4th Wednesday of the month)
6:30pm-7:30pm, held virtually/Zoom 

Bayview Station Captain's Community Meeting
September 3rd (1st Tuesday of the month)
5:00pm-6:00pm, 201 Williams Avenue

Richmond Station Captain's Community Meeting
September 24 (4th Tuesday of the month)
5:00pm-6:00pm, Golden Gate Park Senior Center, 6101 Fulton St.
