SFPD Academy’s 261st Basic Class Graduates 19-015

The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 261st Basic Academy Class, Friday, February 8, 2018, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850 19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 37 recruits graduating (34 men and 3 women).

Two members have earned Master’s degrees, 15 have earned Bachelor’s degrees and seven have earned Associate’s degrees. Four graduates served in the military as members of the US Army and US Marine Corps. Members of the class have previously served as SFPD Cadets, Emergency Medical Technicians, Loss Prevention/Security, TSA Screeners, and were employed in the fields of Construction and Customer Service.

Several Graduates are bilingual, fluent in Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and American Sign Language.

The academy class has completed 34 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
