SFPD Academy's 256th Basic Class Graduates (17-102)

The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 256th Basic Academy Class, Friday, July 14th, 2017, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850 19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 34 recruits graduating (27 men and 7 women).

Fourteen members of the class have earned Bachelor’s degrees, two have earned Associate’s degrees and one has a Juris Doctor degree. Four graduates served in the military as members of the US Army, US Air Force, and US Marine Corps. Members of the class were previously served as SFPD Public Service Aides, SFPD Cadets, youth coaches, and were employed in the fields of Customer Service, Hospitality, Teaching/Education, and with the YMCA.

Several graduates are bilingual, fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese.

The academy class has completed 34 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
