SFPD Academy Community Engagement Event

The San Francisco Police Academy’s 241st Basic Recruit Class will be participating in a Youth Jamboree Ice Cream Social on Friday, December 12, 2014 hosted by the Buchanan YMCA organization. The event will be held at John Muir Elementary School at 380 Webster Street from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

The YMCA Buchanan branch serves the Western Addition and Japantown communities. The YMCA has long been at the forefront of providing quality, low-cost programming for youth. YMCA programs are run by experienced staff with a focus on youth development principles such as safety, relationship building, skill building, community involvement, and meaningful youth participation.

Strengthening police-community relations and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie by participating in neighborhood events continues to be a focus of the San Francisco Police Department.
