San Francisco Police Traffic Collision Investigation Unit Makes Arrest in Potrero Hill Fatal Collision 19-136

On November 2, 2019 at approximately 8:48 AM, San Francisco Police officers responded to the intersection of 16th Street and De Haro Street regarding an auto versus pedestrian collision.  Upon arrival, they located the victim, 77 year-old San Francisco resident Jesus Ocampo, suffering from traumatic injuries. 

Mr. Ocampo was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH) where he succumbed to his injuries on November 7th.

The driver of the silver Toyota Prius that was involved in the collision remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation by the San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCIU), the driver- 39 year-old Valeriano Batistadeoliveira of San Francisco- was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
