San Francisco Police Make Arrests in Two Unrelated Homicide Investigations 20-076
On December 24, 2018, at approximately 1:22 AM San Francisco Police officers responded to a call on the 1300 block of Evans Avenue for gunshots heard and a possible shooting victim located in a vehicle.
Officers arrived and located a vehicle involved in a collision at Evans Avenue and Mendell Street and discovered an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. Officers immediately rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. Despite the life-saving efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A homicide investigation commenced and the SFPD Homicide Detail led the investigation. Investigators determined that the incident was gang-related. Investigators continued on the search for the shooting suspects. Investigators identified one suspect and developed probable cause to arrest Priest Banks, a 32-year-old San Francisco male resident. This is an active investigation and additional suspects are being sought.
On Thursday, August 6, 2020, at approximately 4:10 PM Banks was booked on charges of murder (187(a) PC) and a gang enhancement (186.22(a) PC). Banks was already in custody in San Francisco County Jail for an earlier shooting incident and a separate firearm arrest.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at approximately 4:00 PM officers responded to a shooting on the 1000 block of Pine Street. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. On April 13, 2020, the victim succumbed to his injuries and a homicide investigation was commenced by the SFPD Homicide Detail.
Homicide Investigators identified two suspects responsible for the homicide and obtained warrants for their arrest. On Thursday, August 6, 2020, at approximately 3:30 PM officers located the suspects in a vehicle on the 600 block of Natoma Street. The officers arrested Cirrena Degara, a 30-year-old female, and Teron Davis, a 33-year-old male both from Newman, California.
Degara was booked into San Francisco County Jail on charges of murder (187(a) PC) and shooting a firearm from a vehicle (26100(b) PC). Davis was booked for murder (187(a) PC), shooting a firearm from a vehicle (26100(b) PC), and possession of a firearm to commit a felony (25800(b) PC).
