San Francisco Police Make Arrest in 2016 Sex Crimes Investigation (17-092)

In October 2016, the San Francisco Police Department’s Special Victims Unit launched an investigation into a report of a sexual battery upon a minor at a middle school in the Bayview District. School officials contacted SFPD and also immediately contacted families to inform them an investigation was underway, encouraging students and families to report any concerns. As a result of the investigation, a suspect was identified and a District Attorney's Warrant was issued for Donovan Harper, a 35 year-old resident of Novato. 

On June 8, 2017, the Novato Police Department served the warrant and took Harper into custody without incident. Harper is charged with one felony count of forcible lewd act upon a child under fourteen years and one felony count of lewd act upon a child under fourteen. He is currently being held in San Francisco County Jail.

Donovan Harper is a former employee of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and has worked on multiple school campuses.
