San Francisco Police Department Makes Arrest in Hallidie Plaza Homicide 22-142(a)

On September 26, 2022, at approximately 4:00 a.m., San Francisco Police Officers assigned to Tenderloin Station responded to the 900 block of Market Street on a report of a stabbing.  

Officers arrived on scene and discovered an adult male on the ground suffering from apparent stab wounds. Officers began rendering aid and summoned medics to the scene. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the officers and the medics, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.  

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Homicide Detail responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as 29-year-old Aaron Jones of San Francisco. On December 15, 2022, investigators located Jones in the area of 5th and Mission Streets and took him into custody. Jones was booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of homicide (187(a)PC).
