San Francisco Police Arrests Shooting Suspect 24-118

Shooting occurred outside high school

On August 21, 2024, at approximately 12:38 pm officers responded to a report of a shooting at North Point and Polk streets, outside a high school in session. Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid and medics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from the SFPD Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT) took over the investigation. Through the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male from San Francisco. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain a no bail arrest warrant.

On October 8, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. CVRT officers located the suspect at Ocean Beach (900 block of Great Highway) and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, a loaded firearm was located and seized along with other items of evidentiary value possibly related to the shooting. The suspect was transported and booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for the felony charge of assault with a firearm (245(a)(2) PC).
