San Francisco Police Arrest Suspects in Crime Spree

Manu Pomele Jonathan Limu San Francisco Police have arrested two men in connection with five incidents in the Bayview District on July 10th and 11th.  During the course of an investigation, officers from the Department's Gang Task Force linked Jonathan Limu, 20 years old and Manu Pomele, 19 years old, both San Francisco residents, to the following crimes: July 10th 8:00 PM Burrows and Silver Streets; The victim, a 16 year-old male was holding his cell phone and his sister’s phone while playing the Pokémon Go game. The suspect snatched one phone and then the other before running to a waiting get-away car described as a silver coupe and being driven by a second suspect.  The victim, while shaken up, was not injured. July 11th 1:10 AM: 23rd and Dakota Streets; The Victim, 19 year-old San Francisco resident went to the area to meet a friend.  The suspects approached him and demanded money. They went through the victims pockets and, finding no money, punched the victim multiple times on his head. They then stole a pair of rollerblades and other personal effects.  The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. 2:08 AM: Missouri and Madera Streets; Officers were on scene taking a robbery report from 23rd and Dakota Street when they heard shots fired nearby. They saw a silver Pontiac approach and pass their location. Believing the occupants were responsible for the shots fired, the officers got in their cars and located the vehicle travelling on 20th Street where they then effected a traffic stop at 20th and Tennessee Street.  The officers conducted an investigation including but were unable to tie the occupants to the shots that were fired. It was later determined that occupants of the vehicle were likely the intended targets of those gun shots. 4:00 AM: Vermont and Mariposa Streets; the victim, a 58 year-old male was seated in his car when the suspects emerged from behind a parked vehicle.  One suspect was holding a gun and demanded his money. Fearing for his life, the victim handed over his wallet containing US Currency. The suspects then demanded his car but the victim drove away. 7:45 AM: Wisconsin and Madera Streets; Officers responded to the area on a well-being check. They contacted Pomele and determined he had an outstanding warrant.  An arrest search revealed Pomele had several rounds of pistol ammunition in his pant pocket. Lima also was taken into custody in front of the Hall of Justice on July 11th at approximately 11:00 AM. He was transported to Bayview Station for further investigation. Lima and Pomele were booked at San Francisco County Jail on multiple counts of robbery, multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, various firearm related charges, one count of attempted carjacking, and conspiracy.
