San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect from Mission Street Homicide 20-115

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, at approximately 4:30 AM, San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to the 900 block of Mission Street regarding an aggravated assault. Officers arrived on scene and located a 35-year-old adult male down on the sidewalk. Officers summoned medics to the scene and medics transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of the medical staff the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased. The SFPD Homicide Detail and Night Investigations Unit took over the investigation.

Investigators developed information that led to the identification of the suspects. On Saturday, October 10, 2020, 26-year-old Michael Stables and 20-year-old Carolina Hernandez were arrested by Redwood City Police officers. SFPD investigators responded to Redwood City and took custody of the suspects. Stables and Hernandez were transported to San Francisco County Jail. Stables was booked on one count of homicide (187 PC) and one count of attempted homicide (664/187 PC). Hernandez was booked on one count of accessory after the fact (32 PC).
