San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect in Attempted Homicide 21-110

On June 1, 2021, at approximately 9:38 p.m. San Francisco Police officers responded to the 2400 block of Chestnut Street on reports of gunfire. Multiple 911 callers advised dispatch a possible vehicle involved was a black sedan with no headlights and was last seen speeding away from the area.  The victim was able to make it to Francisco Street and Divisadero Street, where he flagged down officers.

Officers ascertained the shooting was related to a shoplifting incident that occurred at a convenient store/pharmacy close by. Police were also able to obtain a suspect description and vehicle description from multiple sources, and that information was broadcasted over the police radio. Northern Station units responded to the area to assist with the investigation. 

As information continued to develop, an SFPD unit discovered a parked unoccupied vehicle matching the suspect description on the 2400 block of Bay Street. Officers also located an individual matching the suspect description on the 3300 block of Broderick, just around the corner from where the vehicle was located. The individual was detained without incident and a firearm was recovered from his waistband.

After further investigation, officers placed Ryan Beardsley, a 27-year-old San Bruno resident under arrest. Beardsley was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the following charges:

  • 664/187 PC: Attempted Homicide
  • 245(a)(2) PC: Assault with a Firearm
  • 529(a)(3) PC: False Impersonation
  • 246 PC: Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle
  • 29800(a)(1) PC: Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • 25850(a) PC, two counts: Carrying a Loaded Firearm
  • 25850(a) PC: Convicted Person Carrying Loaded Firearm
  • 25850 (a) PC: Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Prohibited Person
  • 25850(a) PC: Not Registered Owner of Concealed Firearm
  • 25400 (a)(2) PC, two counts: Concealed Firearm on Person
  • 25400 (a)(2) PC: Convicted Person Having Concealed Firearm on Person
  • 25400 (a)(2) PC: Unlawful Possession of Concealed Firearm
  • 25400 (a)(2) PC: Not Registered Owner of Concealed Firearm
