San Francisco Police Arrest Stabbing Suspect 18-174

On Monday, December 24, 2018 at approximately 5:38PM, San Francisco Police officers responded to a report of a person down on the 400 block of Jessie Street between 6th Street and Mint Street.  Upon arrival, the officers located a 70 year-old female, San Francisco resident suffering from apparent stab wounds.  San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene. The SFPD Homicide Detail was notified and is conducting an investigation.

On Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at approximately 12:40AM, San Francisco Police officers responded to a reported stabbing on the unit block of 3rd Street.  Upon arrival, officers located a 46 year-old female suffering from stab wounds.  Officers rendered aid and summoned an ambulance. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.  Additional officers who had responded to the scene detained a person matching the suspect description.  Through the course of an investigation, the individual was identified as the suspect and placed under arrest. Michael Jacobs a 27 year-old transient was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the charge of attempted murder. Due to pending identification matters, Jacobs' booking photo is not being released at this time.

Due to the fact that both of these crimes involved stabbings that occurred within close proximity to each other, the SFPD Homicide Detail is investigating both incidents and will be working to determine if the crimes are related.
