San Francisco Police Arrest Shots Fired Suspect From Haight and Cole Streets 23-057
On April 20, 2023, at approximately 1:18 p.m., San Francisco Police officers from Park Station responded to the area of Cole Street and Haight Street for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located multiple spent shell casings but did not locate a victim. The officers collected evidence related to the crime and interviewed witnesses.
The SFPD Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT) took over the investigation. Through the course of the investigation, investigators developed information that identified 32-year-old Patrick Rushing of Pinole as a suspect involved in the above-listed shots fired incident. The investigators obtained arrest and search warrants for Rushing, his residence, and associated vehicles.
On May 17, 2023, SFPD members of CVRT and the Crime Gun Investigation Center (CGIC), located Rushing in the area of the 1000 block of Bay View Farm Road in Pinole, where he fled from the officers on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, officers placed Rushing into custody. Officers served a search warrant at Rushing’s residence which resulted in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and other evidence related to the investigation. Rushing was transported and booked at San Francisco County Jail for the shooting incident as well as for multiple gun-related charges.
