San Francisco Police Arrest Prolific Union Square Larceny Suspect

On June 8, 2016 at 11:00AM, officers from Central Police Station arrested a suspect wanted in connection with numerous thefts that occurred in the Union Square shopping district over the past several months. Kelvin Dale Burton, male, 22, of Pittsburgh, CA, was taken into custody on the second floor of the Hall of Justice. Burton, who is believed to be responsible for stealing over $100,000 in designer purses, clothing and accessories, was booked into SF County Jail for the following offenses:

Burglary and Grand Theft for an incident occurring on March 3, 2016 at 3:30 PM at a store on the 100 block of Grant Street in which at least eight hand bags valued at over$6,000.00 were stolen.

Robbery and Burglary for a May 17th incident occurring on the 100 block of Post Street at 1:30 PM in which three suspects used force to complete a theft of merchandisevalued at over $32,000.00.

Robbery, Burglary and Assault with Pepper Spray for a May 29th incident that occurred at 12:10 PM on the 200 block of Post Street. In this incident, multiple suspects stole merchandise (purse and accessories) valued at approximately $44,000.00. A store employee attempted to prevent the theft and was sprayed with pepper spray by one of the suspects as they made off with the stolen goods.

Burglary and Grand Theft for an incident that occurred on April 19th on the 100 block of O’Farrell in which various designer purses, clothing and accessories valued atapproximately $30,000.00 was stolen.
