San Francisco Police Arrest Attempted Homicide Suspect 21-141

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, at approximately 8:42 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to an apartment building on the 200 block of 6th Street for a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located a 46-year-old male victim suffering from a stab wound. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officer met with witnesses who said that the victim and the suspect, later identified as 58-year-old Alan Carinio of San Francisco, were involved in a verbal altercation outside the building. Carinio produced a knife and stabbed the victim. Carinio then fled the scene.

Investigators obtained a photo of Carinio and issued a crime alert bulletin. At approximately 3:30 p.m., SFPD investigators were contacted by deputies from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office who advised them that they located Carinio on the 7000 block of Main Street in American Canyon.

Officers responded to the American Canyon Police Station and took custody of Carinio. Carinio was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked on charges of attempted murder (664/187), assault with a deadly weapon (245(a)(1) PC), battery causing serious bodily injury (243(d) PC), mayhem (203 PC), and parole violation (3056 PC).
