San Francisco Police Academy’s 270th Academy Class Graduation
The San Francisco Police Department’s 270th Recruit Class was sworn in Friday, December 4, 2020, by San Francisco Police Chief William Scott. A private graduation ceremony was held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are a total of 27 graduating officers, of whom 23 are male and 4 are female. 14 graduates are bilingual and fluent in Spanish, Italian, German, Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Cambodian, and Vietnamese.
The 270th Recruit Class has fourteen members who have earned Bachelor’s degrees, and two have earned Master’s degrees. Five graduates have served in the United States military – two in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard. Members of the class have previously been employed as a San Francisco Sherriff Department cadet, correctional officer, and security guards, and in non-public safety professions including teacher, mechanic, banker, retail, trade professions to name a few.

The 270th Recruit Class has completed 33 weeks of training. Following graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
