San Francisco to Hold Gun Buy-Back Event, Sat March 21, 2015

San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee, Police Chief Greg Suhr, Supervisor Board President London Breed, and the members of Northern Police Station would like to announce a Gun Buy-Back Event in the Fillmore/Western Addition Community in collaboration with Project Level, United Playaz, The Healing Circle, and other supporting partners.

The Gun Buy-Back will take place in the Western Addition neighborhood on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center located at 1050 McAllister Street.

“Gun Buy-Backs are important in the City’s ongoing efforts to keep San Francisco and District 5 safe from gun violence. The amount of lethal fire power removed from our communities through gun buy-backs can have a significant impact on the quality of life for our residents,” said Supervisor Board President London Breed. “One gun off the streets could mean one life saved.”

“Gun violence has adversely affected our community all too often and our hope is that even one gun removed from our streets and our homes may help save a life. This gun buy-back is one step in our journey to help save lives and keep our community safe from gun violence,” said Captain Greg McEachern of Northern Police Station.

This is a drive-through event. All participants must arrive in a car, with the unloaded weapon(s) already placed in the trunk of the car. Guns in working condition will be exchanged for up to $100 cash, with up to $200 cash for assault weapons. No questions will be asked of any participant.
