Supervisor Breed and I have called a community meeting to be held on Saturday February 24th at 11am at Park Sta- tion’s Community Room, 1899 Waller Street to allow community member s to gather and shar e their concer ns for themselves and their neighborhoods. It will allow us the time to inform all community members the steps we are taking to ensure your safety within the district.
Park District has seen some very unsettling incidents this past week. Friday night Feb 16th was the night Park district experienced its first homicide for 2018. We saw the loss of one life and serious injury of another. Death by homicide anywhere is always concerning but to get the suspect into custody in less than 10 hours is really your best case scenario. SFPD members did a great job in the investigative follow up, which ended in a barricaded suspect, a standoff, shots fired, and eventually a surrender. Thank goodness there were no additional victims or injuries.
