Bayview Station - Officer of the Month - April 2018

Meet Officer John Norment. He had been with the SFPD for 11 years, 9 of which have been right here in the district. He is assigned to the Housing unit and specifically patrols the Hunter's View area. John is actively involved in SFPD's Wilderness Program and uses his affiliation to get Bayview kids out and experiencing the great outdoors! With Officer Norment, dozens of Bayview grammar school students got to kayak in the Bay, go white water rafting on the American River, and hike within many of our beautiful state parks. John has also tutors kids at Bret Harte Elementary through their "Reading Partners" program. He has been helping kids learn to read for over 6 years and counting. You can also find Officer Norment at most of the seasonal SFPD community events such as the annual backpack giveaway & holiday toy drives!
