Arrest

Officers were standing in front of Pedro's Cantina on King St when several bystanders advised them of a physical altercation occurring in front of the Hotel Via, 138 King St. Officers responded and detained two individuals who were observed fighting on the ground. One individual had controlled bleeding coming from his mouth and a smell of alcohol coming from his breath. The other subject appeared sober and was uninjured. While handling the incident, an uninvolved person named Brandon Garza approached the scene and became belligerent towards officers. The officers ordered Garza to back up but Garza refused. Garza took a fighting stance towards officers and continued to cause trouble. Officers took Garza into custody. Garza showed numerous signs of intoxication and during a search incident to arrest officers seized a loaded Taurus brand 38 special revolver from Garza's gym bag. Garza was booked for delaying/obstructing, possession of a concealed firearm without permit and possession of a loaded firearm.
