Aggravated Assault

Mission officers responded to a report of a man with a gun at So Van Ness Ave at 19th St. When officers arrived on scene they met with the victims, who are brothers. The victims said they were walking northbound on So Van Ness Ave when Suspect 1 approached them said f*** you", and pointed a black firearm at them. Victim I stated he was afraid and that Victim 2 immediately punched Suspect I in the mouth. Suspect I then punched Victim 2 in the stomach. Suspect 1 then grabbed a nearby tree branch and began hitting both brothers. Suspect 1 then threw the gun over a fence and was pinned against a wall by both Victims. When officers arrived, they handcuffed Suspect 1, searched the area, and located the gun which turned out to be a bb gun with a holster. Both victims said they had no prior contact with Suspect 1 and did not know him. Suspect I refused to give the officers his real name while he was transported to the hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained. Neither victims required transport. Upon interview with a SIT sergeant, Suspect I gave his real name, which showed two felony warrants, one from San Mateo and one from San Francisco. Suspect 1 remains at SFGH pending booking.
