SFPD Makes Arrest in Ingleside Sexual Assault Case 19-061
On May 10, 2019 at approximately 5:00PM, San Francisco Police officers from Ingleside Police Station responded to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH) regarding a sexual assault investigation. Upon arrival, the officers contacted the victim, a 74 year-old female, San Francisco resident. The victim told officers that earlier that day, at approximately 7:40AM, she was walking to a friend’s house when a man forced her into a house and sexually assaulted her. Following the assault, which lasted several hours, the suspect forced the victim from the residence, leaving her on the sidewalk a few doors down. A passerby called 9-1-1 and a San Francisco Fire Department ambulance transported the victim to ZSFGH.
Ingleside Station officers began an immediate investigation which included a canvass of the area and the victim’s walking route. The SFPD Special Victims Unit assumed the investigation. On May 17, 2019 SVU investigators, assisted by Ingleside Station personnel, served a search warrant at a residence on the 1000 block of Prague Street. SFPD officers arrested 47 year-old, San Francisco resident, Manuel Amador. Amador was booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of rape, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury, kidnapping, kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, battery causing serious bodily injury and elder abuse.
Due to pending identification matters Amador’s booking photo is not being released at this time.
