On Saturday, March 4, 2017, at approximately 10:26PM, on Florida Street in the Mission District, a victim was parking her car in the garage of her apartment complex.

Her one year-old daughter was in a car seat in the back of the car. As the victim exited the car she was met by two suspects. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim, demanding the car. The unarmed suspect opened the back door and forcefully pulled the baby out of the car seat. The suspects noticed the victim’s backpack on the passenger seat. The suspects grabbed the victim’s backpack, containing personal items and U.S. currency. The suspects eventually gave the baby back and fled the scene.

The victim is a single mother, and a U.S. Army Veteran. The victim had just taken out money from the bank that day so she could buy a birthday cake and decorations for her daughter’s upcoming birthday. The victim’s wallet was subsequently recovered without the money.

The suspects are both described as Hispanic males, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing dark colored clothing.

At approximately, 10:58 PM, a carjacking occurred on the 600 block of Hampshire Street. Inspectors are investigating whether the suspects in both incidents are connected.
