SFPD ICAC Investigators Arrest Child Pornography Suspect (17-133)
In August of 2017 the San Francisco Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit began an investigation into an individual who was uploading and trading graphic child pornography through the internet.
On August 29, 2017 SFPD investigators served a search warrant at a residence on the 200 block of Summit Street in San Francisco.
During the search warrant investigators located numerous media devices belonging to one of the residents, Esam Abualshaar, a twenty-five year old SF resident who works as a driver for several rideshare companies. Investigators found hundreds of child pornography videos and images on Abualshaar’s media devices.
Abualshaar arrived to his home during the search warrant service and was arrested. He was later booked at San Francisco County Jail for possession of child pornography, possession of over 600 files of child pornography, possession of child pornography involving sado-masochism, and three counts of distribution of child pornography.
