Fourth Annual International Police Motorcycle Skills Competition and Exhibition

Benefiting the San Francisco Police Department Wilderness Program

The San Francisco Police Department and the San Francisco Police Department Wilderness Program hosts the annual International Police Skills Motorcycle Competition and Exhibition. The event benefits the San Francisco Police Department Wilderness Program.

The SFPD Wilderness Program was established in 1981 bringing San Francisco’s inner city youth together with the city’s police officers to share positive and challenging outdoor adventures.  The purpose of the program is to breakdown the barriers and better relationships with police, teachers and the community.  We develop leadership, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence and self-respect.  This is accomplished through; backpacking, day hikes, river rafting, ropes course, sailing and other related wilderness activities.

Over 50 officers from local and international law enforcements agencies will maneuver their motorcycles through timed obstacle courses. The San Francisco Skills Competition is known as the most challenging law enforcement motorcycle skill competition in California. Everyone is invited to attend and watch this friendly competition between members of the law enforcement community. This event is free to the public.

Fun and Activites For the Whole Family

Motorcycles for Kids Event: The Department continues its, “Motorcycles for Kids” event. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to a non-competitive bicycle event by riding through a bicycle obstacle course. The children are given safety tips for safe riding while having fun with officers. The “Motorcycle for Kids” event date and time are to be determined for 2016. This event is also free and children are encouraged to bring their own bicycles and helmets.

In addition to the Motorcycle for Kids event, there is a variety of children's activities. McGruff the Crime Dog also makes an appearance. There is plenty of delicious food and drink available for purchase and free event parking.
