SFPD Chief Greg Suhr's Message to the Family and Friends of Officer Kenyon Youngstrom
"The members of the San Francisco Police Department are deeply saddened by the tragic death of California Highway Patrol Officer Kenyon Youngstrom.
As members of the law enforcement family, it breaks our hearts when we learn that one of our own has been lost in the line of duty; a painful reality we never forget.
To Officer Youngstrom’s family – his wife, children, and parents – our heartfelt condolences go out to you as you try to make sense out of the senseless and cowardly act that took the life of your beloved husband, father, son. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
May the sacrifice of our brother, Officer Kenyon Youngstrom, remind all of us just how vulnerable we are as peace officers who are sworn to serve and protect our communities. Be proud of who he was and let none of us forget his service, time, and efforts as he has left us too young in life - a true hero."
