Suspect Re-Arrested in 2011 Night Club Homicide
On Sunday, January 12th, the San Francisco Homicide Unit re-arrested a suspect from a homicide that occurred at a night club on the 500 block of Howard Street, which took place on January 9th, 2011. Arrested for the homicide was 25 year old Tracy Luong. Luong is a resident of San Jose, California. Luong turned herself into police custody and was booked on the following charges: Involuntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury.
The victim in this case, Joe Hernandez was 30 years old, 4th year UCSF medical student at the time of his death. Mr. Hernandez had volunteered as a disaster relief worker after Hurricane Katrina, learning Spanish so he could work with refugees in Guadalajara Mexico. As a teenager, Mr. Hernandez worked as an unpaid hospital volunteer.
