On March 6, 2014, San Francisco Police arrested two suspects in connection with the possession, sales, and manufacturing of explosives. The two men, Sean Patrick Gunther, 37, a San Pablo resident, and Marc Steven Ormando, 47 a Pacifica resident, were booked on multiple counts of unlawful possession and sales of destructive devices and related offenses.
The Special Investigation Division initiated undercover operations spanning several months. Search warrants were executed at both Gunther’s and Ormando’s residences. Explosives were located at Gunther’s residence along with illegal narcotics. A large cache of explosives, seventeen firearms including handguns and rifles, and large barrels containing explosive making chemicals were located at Ormando’s residence.
