SFPD Arrest Third Suspect in Ongoing Muni Bus Arson

San Francisco Police made a third arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation of the vandalism and arson of a Muni Bus that occurred on Market and Third streets on Monday, October 29, 2012 at around 12:30 A.M. Inspectors from the Department’s Special Investigations Division, which includes the Arson Task Force, and the assistance of the U.S. Marshall services, arrested Adam Diaz, 24, of Oakland. He was arrested in Lafayette at 11:00 A.M. and was later booked into San Francisco County Jail.

Diaz has been charged with felony vandalism, and felony damaging or destroying a passenger transit vehicle. Police credit the input and assistance from the public in helping to identify Diaz, whose booking photo accompanies this press release.

Police continue their investigation into the vandalism of the Muni Bus and had earlier released video and photographs of two suspects wanted for arson.

Today, investigators released several photos of an additional suspects wanted for breaking windows of the bus. The photos shows Diaz, wearing all dark clothing and a baseball cap. Diaz used a skate board to break windows on the side of the bus. An additional suspect is seen in a photo of a male also using a barricade breaking the front windshield of the Muni bus. This suspect is a black male in his 20’s wearing a red shirt with gray horizontal stripes. Photos of the unidentified suspect is available on the SFPD website.
