Subject: SPECIAL OLYMPICS TORCH RUN JUNE 4
One hundred and twenty-five San Francisco police officers, CHP officers and Sheriff’s deputies will participate in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run on Wednesday, June 4. A Special Olympics torch relay contingent will be arriving in San Francisco to pass the torch to the San Francisco contingent starting at the St. Francis Yacht Club at 9:00 A.M. and proceed to Jefferson and Taylor streets for a relay at 9:30. The next relay will be at Union Square at 10:15, with the final relay taking place at Justin Herman Plaza at 12:00 noon, where the torch will be passed to the Oakland Police Department contingent. Acting Chief Alex Fagan will join Oakland’s police chief Richard Word when the torch is passed.
