Subject: SFPD WORKING WITH HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION REGARDING SUPREME COURT DECISION
On either June 23 or June 30, the Supreme Court will decide on whether to uphold the Texas “Homosexual Conduct Law” criminalizing consensual sex by gay and lesbian couples. The San Francisco Police Department has been in contact with members of the Human Rights Commission to plan for any public demonstration that may arise when the Court makes its decision. The goal for everyone is to ensure the public safety in the event of public demonstrations.
