Subject: Police Arrest Suspect In December 25 Sexual AssaultSan Francisco police arrested an East Bay man on Christmas Day, and charged him with sexually assaulting a prostitute and impersonating a police officer. Taken into custody was Munkei Keton, 37, of Concord.
In this incident, officers were dispatched to Polk and Geary streets on December 25 at about 12:00 noon regarding an assault in which the suspect made statements to the victim during the initial contact that he was a “cop.” The victim provided information about the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle to the police. Police determined that the vehicle, a 1993 white Isuzu Rodeo, was registered to a Concord resident. The SFPD notified Concord police, who were able to locate the suspect who was still driving the vehicle and detain him. Officers from Northern Station traveled to Concord to make the arrest.
Keton was booked at San Francisco County Jail on sexual assault charges, assault, false imprisonment, misrepresenting oneself as a police officer. He remains in custody. The victim was treated for her injuries and released.
Police are seeking others who may have been the victim of this suspect. Keton is described as an African-American, 5’7”, 195 lbs., balding, and driving the vehicle as described above. Additional victims of this suspect are urged to contact the Sexual Assault Detail, 553-1361.
Police urge anyone who is the victim of a sexual assault to report the incident immediately to the police or to the Rape Treatment Center at San Francisco General Hospital.
