The San Francisco Police Department will hold a memorial service on Saturday, December 22, 2007 for Officer Bryan Tuvera, who was fatally shot one year ago. The service will begin at the site where Bryan heroically gave his life at 25th and Lawton at 7 P.M., and the group will march to Taraval Police Station shortly thereafter. After arriving at Taraval Station, the memorial service will include a candlelight vigil and speeches from the family and friends of Officer Tuvera.
On December 22, 2006, while assigned to Taraval Station, Officer Tuvera was shot as he attempted to arrest an escaped felon he had pursued into a garage. Officer Tuvera was taken to SFGH where he died a short time later.
Department members, the media and the public are invited to attend.
