Officers from Northern Police Station will be visiting the UCSF Children’s hospital, on Parnassus Avenue on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 2:30 PM. Officers, one of which will be dressed as Santa Claus, along with a little elf will be visiting the children patients and distributing toys. The officers will also be providing food for the children’s parents. These officers raised $6500 from donations from members of the police department, the San Francisco Police Officers’ Association and the Emerald Society. These officers purchased toys from a wish list provided by the hospital staff and were also able to purchase necessary items for the Children’s wards, including strollers and a portable DVD for the ambulance. This is the 3rd year in a row that these officers have visited the children. The event is expected to last about 2 hours. Any media interested in covering this event should come to the main entrance of the hospital at 2:30PM to be escorted.
