Subject: Police Chief George Gascón To Kick Off Holiday Toy Drive

San Francisco Police Chief George Gasc?n will join SFPD officers and San Francisco 49er representatives to kick off the 15th annual SFPD’s Operation Dream Holiday Toy Patrol toy donation drive on Monday, December 14, at Gate F at Candlestick Park starting at 4:00 P.M. prior to the start of the San Francisco 49er-Arizona Cardinals game. The 49ers have been a constant support for the Operation Dream Holiday Toy Patrol over the years. The event will conclude at 4:45 P.M.

Operation Dream, a non-profit organization created in 1994, works year-round with disadvantaged youth and is staffed with SFPD officers who donate their time to improving the life of families, children, and youth in public housing. During the holiday season, Operation Dream officers and other SFPD officers work diligently to ensure that every child in San Francisco public housing gets a holiday gift. Officers deliver approximately 20,000 gifts to be distributed at the holiday party each public housing development hosts each year. In addition to the annual Operation Dream Holiday Toy Patrol drive, each of the SFPD’s ten district stations has a holiday gift barrel where citizens can drop off an unwrapped new toy (no toy guns or war toys).
