The San Francisco Police Department's Operation Dream will be collecting toys for needy children on Sunday, December 9, at the 49er football game atMonster Park at Candlestick Point. Police officers will be at each of the stadium's entrances to the parking lot to collect toys from 8:00 A.M. until the start of the game at 1:00 P.M.
There are literally thousands of children in San Francisco public housing and other low-income areas who are not blessed with the joys of Christmas Day. You can bring a little joy to a child's life by dropping a toy into one of the red or green Operation Dream Holiday toy barrels at the parking lot entrances. You can also drop off a toy at any SFPD district station.
Donated toys should be brand new and unwrapped, and intended for children 12 years old or younger, and should not include toy guns.
Donations to Operation Dream are also gratefully accepted. Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to Operation Dream, 3401-17th Street., San Francisco CA 94110.
Operation Dream is a non-profit organization comprised of SFPD Officers and civilian supporters who donate their time to bettering the lives of children living in public housing developments through year-round events and activities. You may visit Operation Dream at www.operationdream.org
