On November 8, Officers Troy Carrasco and John Fergus, plainclothes officers from Richmond Station, arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for eight armed robberies in San Francisco. Taken into custody was Charles Faultry, 20, of Bay Point in Pittsburg, California.
The officers had arrested Faultry for outstanding warrants and narcotics violations, but Robbery Inspectors John Peterson and Jason Cherniss determined that Faultry had been involved in six recent robberies of taxicabs and two armed robberies of liquor stores in San Francisco. Further investigation linked Faultry to the armed robbery of a 7-11 convenience store in Pittsburg, California. Investigators believe that Faultry discharged his firearm during the commission of two of the commercial robberies.
The Robbery Detail acknowledges the outstanding work by Officers Caurasco and Fergus in the quick identification and capture of this dangerous subject. Faultry is currently being held on multiple counts of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
