San Francisco Police arrested 39 suspects in a Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team (FRET) operation conducted yesterday over a ten-hour period, starting at 12 noon. The target-enforcement operation, which was city wide, was headed by FRET, Gang Task Force, the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, State Parole, State Probation, and the U. S. Marshal. In a highly coordinated effort, which included participation by SFPD patrol units and the SFPD Bureau of Investigations, the arrest sweep targeted high-risk parole and probation violators for robbery, narcotics, and sexual predator crimes. Of the 39 arrests, four were women.
