104 Suspected Drug Dealers Arrested In San Francisco In Week-Long Enforcement Operation

The San Francisco Police Department's Gang Task Force and Narcotics Division have arrested 104 suspects as the result of a week-long enforcement operation that ended on November 10. The Gang Task Force and Narcotics teams, assisted by officers from various district police stations, all in an undercover capacity, purchased heroin, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and other illegal drugs, primarily in the Tenderloin and Mission districts. These areas were targeted specifically because of the violence resulting from drugs being sold openly on the street and in response to community complaints.

This is the second recent major enforcement operation conducted by the Gang Task Force and the Narcotics Division. A six-day enforcement operation concentrating on the Tenderloin, Market Street and Mission district areas that ended on October 20 resulted in the arrest of 103 suspected drug dealers.

It should be noted that there has been a substantial decrease in drug-related homicides in targeted areas since the intensive buy-bust operations began in late July.
