San Francisco Police Officer Involved in Shooting

On November 12, 2010 at approximately 2:18 PM, San Francisco Police officers stopped a brown SUV at Webster and Fell Streets to conduct a narcotics investigation.  During the course of the investigation, an officer was standing at the driver’ side door of the SUV.  The driver of the suspect vehicle reached into the center console. The officer saw a bag of suspected narcotics and reached in to control the driver’s arms. At that time, the driver shifted the car into “drive” and drove away with the officer still leaning into the driver’s side window.  The suspect dragged the officer several feet before the officer dislodged himself.  Another officer on the scene fired one round, striking the rear of the vehicle.  The suspects fled the scene and officers found the suspect vehicle abandoned on the 300 block of

Webster Street
.  The officer was later treated for non life threatening injuries.  The suspects remain at large and were described as two black male adults.

This incident is under investigation by the San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail, Internal Affairs Officer Involved Shooting Team, The Office of the District Attorney and the Office of Citizen’s Complaints.

Witnesses and persons having information related to the identity of the suspects are asked to call the anonymous tip line (415) 575-4444 or “text a tip” at TIP411.
