Subject: Suspect In November 6 Homicide Surrenders To Police
On Friday, November 6, 2009 at 9:52 P.M., Alfonso Rodriguez, 39, of San Mateo, was assaulted while seated in his car near the intersection of Cordova and Munich streets. He was later pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital.
Subsequent investigation resulted in probable cause to believe that Tony Leyva, 35, no local address, was the person responsible for the death of Rodriguez. Leyva subsequently turned himself in to the authorities on Wednesday, November 11, at 9:30 P.M. and was booked for murder.
The investigation led the investigators to believe that there were two other persons with Leyva during the assault. In order to understand what role these other two persons played in the incident, the SFPD is requesting that anyone having information about this incident and about the identity of these persons to contact the Homicide Detail, 553-1145, or the Confidential Tip Line, 415-575-4444.
