San Francisco Police arrested five suspects after a cell phone store robbery that occurred November 5 on the 2000 block of Irving Street at approximately 4:40 P.M. Taken into custody were Dontairius Morton, 18, of San Francisco; Terrance Gentry, 18, of Stockton; Daudi Turner, 23, of San Francisco; Jose Hernandez, 36, no local address; and a 17-year-old San Francisco male juvenile.
Officers learned that suspects were going to commit a robbery at a cell phone store in the Sunset District. In response, plain clothes officers set up a perimeter. While the driver of the car, later identified as Hernandez, remained inside the car, police saw the other four suspects go into the store. The suspects, brandishing guns at the employees, grabbed cell phones on display and threw them into bags.
Noticing the police presence, all four suspects rushed out of the back door, setting off a foot chase over backyard fences. The suspects separated, breaking into two occupied houses, terrifying the residents. Police cornered and arrested all four suspects in the immediate area. Police also arrested the driver of the vehicle, which was parked nearby.
The suspects were charged with multiple counts of robbery, resisting arrest, false imprisonment, and conspiracy, and remain in custody.
Police are investigating a link between this robbery and other takeover cell phone store robberies that have occurred this year.
