San Francisco Police Seek Information In Bank Robbery Series

San Francisco Police are seeking the public's help in locating a serial bank robber responsible for seven robberies over the past few months. Of these robberies, six have occurred in San Francisco's Chinatown and one in Oakland. The date and locations of the robberies are as follows:

June 13 United Commercial Bank 743 Washington St.
July 2 Bank of America 701 Grant Ave.
July 27 CitiBank 1000 Grant Ave.
July 28 United Commercial Bank 1066 Grant Ave.
August 20 East West Bank 369-9th St., Oakland
October 11 First Bank 1143 Grant Ave
October 31 Wells Fargo 1160 Grant Ave.

In all cases, the suspect presented a demand note, completed the robbery, and escaped on foot.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged Chinese male, 5'6 -5'8 , thin, wearing a cap or hat. A bank surveillance photo accompanies this press release on the SFPD's Web site, sfgov.org/police.
