San Francisco Police have arrested a woman in connection with the murder of her three young children that occurred yesterday, October 19th. At about 5:30 P.M., police received a call of a woman at the end of Pier 7 on the Embarcadero seen dropping her children into the bay. Police responded and encountered a woman on the pier pushing an empty baby stroller and, after a brief detention, arrested her. Taken into custody was Lashuan Harris, 23, of Oakland. She has been booked on three counts of murder and three counts of assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death. Harris will be arraigned at a later date.
San Francisco police immediately coordinated with the San Francisco Fire Department, the
U. S. Coast Guard, and the California Highway Patrol in a water, land, and air search. One body was recovered that evening at about 10:00 P.M. in the bay near the Saint Francis Yacht Club, about two miles away.
The victims, all male children, have been identified as Treyshun Harris, 6; Taronta Greeley, 2; and Joshoa Greeley, 16 months. The body of Taronta Greeley was recovered. The search for the other two bodies continues.
San Francisco Police are requesting that anyone, who may have witnessed this incident or may have seen Harris with her children earlier, contact the police. Persons with information may contact the Confidential Tip Line at 415-575-4444. The Coast Guard is also requesting that anyone aboard watercraft in San Francisco Bay who may observe an object that may be a body call the Coast Guard emergency line at 415-556-2103 or use Channel 16 VHF FM, the marine band radio frequency. In addition, the Department of Public Health reminds persons who may be experiencing a mental crisis that could place their child in danger may call 415-255-3737 for help.
San Francisco Police have been in contact with the children’s father. Because the incident is in the preliminary stage of investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
