Subject:     Reward In Double Homicide

The Office of the Mayor has announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and apprehension of Joseph Stevens, 22, who brutally shot and killed Dernae Wysinger, 22, and his two-year-old son Naemon Wysinger with a high-capacity assault weapon on Friday, October 14.   Superior Court Judge Perker Meeks signed a no-bail arrest warrant for Steven’s arrest on October 14.

Since the killings, the San Francisco Police Department has dedicated a large investigative team on a 24-hour basis in a search for the suspect, whom police believe is still in the San Francisco area.  The SFPD has also been working with other law enforcement agencies, including the U. S. Marshal’s Office, in an effort to locate Stevens.  San Francisco Police will also be working with television’s “America ’s Most Wanted” to feature Stevens on its show.

Anyone with information as to Stevens’ whereabouts may contact 9-1-1 or the Confidential Tip Line, 415-575-4444.  Persons should not approach Stevens, who is considered armed and extremely dangerous.  The Police Department also reminds the public that anyone aiding or abetting a fugitive constitutes a felony offense and will be held accountable.

The Police Department urges Stevens to turn himself in to any law enforcement agency in California.

See Steven's crime bulletin for further info.
