SAN FRANCISCO POLICE S.F.P.D. CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY PROGRAM KICK OFF SEPTEMBER 25
The San Francisco Police Department Traffic Company, in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Health, will kick off the 2010 Child Passenger Safety program on Saturday, September 25, at The San Francisco Police Academy. The Academy is located 350 Amber Drive near the Diamond Heights Shopping Center, at 9:00am until noon.
Call the Department of Public Health appointment line at (415) 581-2478 to schedule an appointment for this date only. Child safety seat technicians will be on hand to personally assist in installing and educating the public in the proper way to place a child seat in a vehicle.
Program features and information include the following:
· Child passenger educational outreach and enforcement.
· Educational classes and distribution of vouchers for low-cost car seats by the Department of Public Health.
· Certain individuals may be eligible to receive a safety seat.
The training class concludes at this event with a car seat checkup or installation and fitting for the public in the parking lot at the police academy.
This is a program that has been funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
