Subject:    San Francisco Fraud Suspect Arrested In Texas

San Francisco police obtained a $450,000 arrest warrant for a woman wanted in connection with an elder financial abuse fraud case.  The warrant was issued for Patricia Daniels, 55.  Daniels was the caregiver for an 88-year-old Bayview district woman over a period of about a year.  When the woman died in 2003, Daniels allegedly forged financial documents that made Daniels the trustee and beneficiary instead of the dead woman’s sister.  The estate has been valued at approximately half a million dollars.

Inspector Robert Lee of the SFPD Fraud Section received information that Daniels was in Dallas, Texas.  He relayed this information to the Dallas Sheriff’s Department.  Police located Daniels in Dallas and arrested her.  She will be extradited to San Francisco.

Daniels is charged with elder financial abuse, grand theft, and forgery and filing of false documents.
