On September 8, 2006, San Francisco Police arrested 4 juvenile suspects who committed a spree of early morning robberies, which began with a car jacking in the Alemany Housing Development. The suspects used the vehicle to commit 5-armed robberies of unsuspecting pedestrians on the street. In each incident, the suspects threatened their victims with a black semiautomatic pistol and took the victims' valuables.
At 4:45A.M., Officers from Bayview Station spotted the suspects in what appeared to be another attempt to rob a person standing at 3rd and Palou Street. The suspects, upon seeing the officers, fled in the stolen vehicle and were pursued by police. The suspects led police across the Bay Bridge to Emeryville, where the suspects were taken into custody after they were involved in a single vehicle collision with a roadside barrier.
Follow up investigation by the officers from Bayview Station and inspectors from the San Francisco Police Department Robbery Detail linked the 4 juvenile suspects to the previous robberies. The suspects, all juveniles, are currently in custody on multiple counts of robbery and related charges.
The Robbery Detail would like to recognize the officers of the Bayview Station for their alertness and conscientiousness to duty in bringing a quick end to this series of armed robberies.
